For the first time, the Talented Woman in the Extractive Industry Award was held in Moscow

On October 4, the Talented Woman in the Extractive Industry award was held in Moscow. The Women in Mining Russia Association presented awards to 63 finalists in 9 categories, noting professional women in such a difficult and at first glance malefield of activity.

The award ceremony brought together women from all over the country who have achieved career success and high results in their work. Those who have made a significant contribution to technological development, who take an active civic stand, are involved in charity work, those who have become a worthy example for colleagues.

It was not easy for the jury members – representatives of the largest companies in the extractive industry in Russia – to make a choice, because the story of each laureate was unique.

“Launching our own WIM Russia award will not only help identify the most successful and talented female professionals in the industry, but also increase employee loyalty and engagement in the company,” comments Anna Belova, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors, Independent Director of Sistema.

“We must not forget that the competition itself and the Women in Mining community contribute to increasing the attractiveness of the mining industry and attracting young talent,” said Zumrud Rustamova, Deputy CEO of Polymetal.

“The award is a sign for the extractive industry. The mark for companies is to give structural support to women’s talent. A sign for women is to take steps forward towards professional ambitions. A sign that women’s leadership and equality have come to Russia according to international standards,” shares her impressions Lidia Timkovskaya, founder of Wow Humans!, organizational consultant and Empoverment&Diversity trainer.
